JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION:  Staff Accountant

SALARY:     Commensurate with experience.  Excellent benefits package

STATUS:      Exempt, Full-Time

U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), a nongovernmental, not-for-profit national organizational dedicated to addressing the needs and rights of refugees and immigrants, is seeking a staff Accountant. The successful candidate will have 1 to 2 years of accounting experience especially with not-for-profit organizations.  Proficiency with MS office especially with Excel and accounting software FundEz, and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment is essential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to perform all phases of general accounting: compile, post, analyze and balance financial transactions; work with general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. In addition, the person will be responsible for budget tracking, monthly and quarterly reporting, invoicing, payroll, human resources paperwork and general networking. 

REQUIREMENTS

Must have a college degree in Accounting with 1 to 2 years' work experience; a thorough knowledge of accounting; and have analytical ability to analyze general ledger accounts. Knowledge of budgets and contracts and FundEZ Accounting software preferred. MIS knowledge is a plus. Ability to work independently and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
