JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION:  Case Manager

SALARY:     Commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits package.

STATUS:     Exempt, Full Time

US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), a nongovernmental, not-for-profit national organization dedicated to addressing the needs and rights of refugees and immigrants, seeks a Case Manager for its Des Moines field office. This field office operates as a refugee resettlement program and employment program for refugees, asylees and victims of trafficking, and community education programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position of Case Manager is responsible for arranging housing, healthcare, social services, service provider and interpretation for refugees and Immigrants. Additionally, a Case Manager has the responsibility for maintaining case files, submitting written reports as required, providing cross-cultural information, orienting refugee and immigrant families to their new community, and ensuring a smooth process of resettlement.

REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent interpersonal skills, bilingual English, Burmese or Nepali; Language requirement may be substituted for previous resettlement experience. The candidate must have valid Driver’s License, insurance, clean driving record and personal transportation. Prior experience with social services provision, employment services or refugee resettlement is preferred and the candidate must have dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers and displaced people.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs at a time.
• Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
• Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
• Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
