Speaking Out for Warehoused Refugees
More than 8 million refugees have been warehoused and often all but forgotten by Americans and others around the world. Warehoused refugees from Thailand to Kenya to Algeria have languished in refugee camps for 5, 10, 20, 30 years or more. These human beings are often confined to crowded camps and forced to subsist on rations. They are unable to work and support their family, continue their studies, establish a home, move about freely or pursue any sort of normal life. Day after day they wait.
Watch the video:
USCRI is leading a campaign to end this terrible situation, help restore these refugees' basic human rights and give them the opportunity to finally leave the camps and rebuild a new life. Join the campaign by speaking out for warehoused refugees around the world.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
1. Tell your Senators and Representative to end warehousing.
2. Sign the Stand with a Refugee Pledge.
3. Read about one of the longest warehoused groups of refugees -- the Sahrawi in southwestern Algeria.
4. Learn more about refugee warehousing.
