JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION:Relationship Enhancement Program Coordinator
SALARY:Commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits package.
STATUS:Exempt, Full Time
Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program (VRRP), an office of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), a nongovernmental, not-for-profit national organization dedicated to addressing the needs and rights of refugees and immigrants, is seeking a dynamic, enterprising, enthusiastic, and creative individual to implement and coordinate the Relationship Enhancement Program in Vermont.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direct supervision of the Director, the Relationship Enhancement Program Coordinator will:
• Serve as agency’s primary point of contact for VRRP’s Refugee Family Strengthening Program.
• Assist in the development and administration of the program consistent with grant and contractual requirements.
• Participate in all activities, initiatives and trainings required.
• Promote program in local newspapers and other media.
• Conduct outreach activities with community organizations, faith-based organizations, community leaders, and community volunteers to promote the program as marriage education and family strengthening.
• Generate interest and commitment from the refugee population and partner agencies
• Conduct outreach and raise awareness about the importance of strong marriages and healthy families among all refugee groups resettled in Vermont and encourage participation.
• Collaborate with other agencies participating in USCRI’s national family strengthening initiative.
• Collaborate with other agencies participating in USCRI’s Refugee Family Strengthening Program initiatives nationwide.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships, collaborate and form partnerships with local agencies that provide education and family centered services, such as WHBW, Spectrum, Casey Family Services, etc.
• Train refugees to outreach, promote, and assist with organizing small group classes.
• Train refugees to train others in relationship and marriage education, including mentoring.
• Provide capacity building assistance to refugee communities to provide long-term education and support for healthy relationships.
• Adhere to Domestic Violence Protocol for VRRP in consultation with local experts on domestic violence.
• Engage VRRP’s bilingual/bicultural staff members in outreach activities and encourage their active participation in program’s activities.
• Deliver relationship education to married couples and individuals contemplating marriage, and singles
• Provide the community with expert information regarding the Relationship Enhancement Program.
• Organize, deliver and/or participate in workshops and public presentations about the Program.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with grant requirements and reports.
• Attend local, regional and project specific meetings and trainings as necessary.
• Maintain necessary records and prepare oral and written reports as required.
REQUIREMENT:
• Bachelors/Masters degree in social services, adult education, or a related degree.
• Background and/or interest in social services or relevant experience working with refugees, immigrants and/or minority groups.
• Foreign language proficiency and experience in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment preferred.
• Knowledge of adult education and cross-cultural communication and familiarity with family and relationship issues required.
• Experience in managing adult education programs, developing educational tools and materials and providing technical assistance and training required.
